A. Children do not wear pull ups at the center. When a child is in the process of being potty trained the parents bring many changes of underwear and clothes. The teachers are very good at encouraging the children to try and they have regular potty times through out the day.

Approximately 20 minutes. Pastor Utecht teaches chapel. Pastor Utecht does a lot of singing and movement. There is a short object lesson and prayer. The children enjoy chapel and have a lot of fun.

We encourage them to stay quiet and lay still in order to rest their bodies. If they are very restless or noisy, we can give them a book later on into naptime

While there's no perfect formula that determines when children are truly ready for kindergarten, you can use this checklist to see how well your child is doing in acquiring the skills found on most kindergarten checklists.
Check the skills your child has mastered. Then recheck every month to see what additional skills your child can accomplish easily.
Young children change so fast -- if they can't do something this week, they may be able to do it a few weeks later.

Listen to stories without interrupting
Recognize rhyming sounds
Pay attention for short periods of time to adult-directed tasks
Understand actions have both causes and effects
Show understanding of general times of day
Cut with scissors
Trace basic shapes
Begin to share with others
Start to follow rules

Manage bathroom needs
Button shirts, pants, coats, and zip up zippers

Talk with your child's teacher and come to the office. Children grow and develop at different paces. Often times it is best to give your child the gift of an extra year to grow and mature an extra year before starting them in kindergarten.

For children's comfort and to reduce the risk of contagion, we require a parent to pick up his/her child from the center within 1 to 1 ½ hours after notification of the child being ill. Children sent home ill might not return to school until they have been symptom free for 24 hours.
